Restaurant week started on Sunday in Philadelphia and it was also Mike's birthday weekend! How timely! We've been wanting to go for awhile now and haven't because it's quite expensive. But I decided to take him there anyway since it's his birthday, and Mike got super excited!
I can't remember if the restaurant week menu offered fewer meats than usual, but they definitely had a set number of side dishes. I also don't think we tried all their meats since they come in random order. I think we had their top and bottom sirloins, ribs, lamb, chicken, and pork sausage. Surprisingly, their steaks aren't as good as their chicken and pork; our favorites were their pork covered with parmesan and chicken wrapped in bacon. As for side dishes, we had their garlic mashed potatoes, polenta fries, cheese bread, and caramelized bananas. I love their mashed potatoes, cheese bread, and polenta fries! And if you can believe it, their salad bar/market table is phenomenal. It's got tabouleh, all kinds of cheese (mozzarella, swiss, a huge wheel of parmesan...), sun dried tomatoes, fresh vegetables, and so much more. It was sooo delicious. Now, more pics...
THE MEATS
Obligatory couple pic with huge wine cellar in the back:
Basically, it's unlimited meats and side dishes for about $35. They have servers who walk around carrying huge sticks of meat on a sword. They have these coasters that you flip to red or green to let the servers know if you want meat. When it's on green, they come over and cut the meat in front of you. We were STUFFED after 1.5 rounds.
