This weekend I visited Mike in Philly and it was a blast.
Mike won in his workplace's Fantasy Football league and he took me out to a nice dinner at Indeblue on Friday. We started this tradition last year when he won in his friend's Fantasy Football league :)
Indeblue was really tasty, and almost as good as my favorite Indian place Turmeric that's just around the corner from my workplace. We started with their BBQ pork samosas and for entrees, we had chicken tikka makhani "butter chicken" and lamb biryani. The samosas packed a punch and Mike looooved it. My favorite was the chicken tikka makhani, I really like the creamy honey and tomatoe flavor :P Mike liked the lamb biryani because of the smokiness.
On Saturday, we had lunch and did some grocery shopping in our old hood; our alma mater has a huge super market and I used to go there all the time. There are soo many new restaurants and buildings now. We had lunch at a really Chinese restaurant and then walked around campus. It's starting to look a lot prettier now with patches of green lawns and benches. The new buildings are all glass, super contemporary. They're also building a new library, which I can't wait to see. Despite this, the neighborhood still feels dicey, especially the run down parts that are only a few blocks from campus.
After grocery shopping, we hung around the apartment and watched the last season of Parks & Recreation. Great show by the way.
Then we went to Chu Chu's for dinner with two of his sisters. We were going to go to Oyster House after dinner but we were already stuffed. We always get our moneys worth of Viet food here. So we went to Vivi for bubble tea and popcorn chicken instead. I'm CRAZY for their popcorn chicken! Vivi trumps Kung Fu Tea and Tea-Do because they have so many flavors. All 3 girls had Japanese Matcha bubble tea, which I like but still kind of on the fence about compared to their other flavors...
I also played with my polaroid, and also to make up for lost times when J was in Denmark for Christmas. I plowed through 10 pretty quickly haha

Shot of the night!
On Sunday, Mike and I just chilled in his apartment, mostly because I had a huge stomachache between meals. We made breakfast - scrambled eggs with cheese, roasted potatoes and pigs in a blanket - and dinner - pork chops, roasted potatoes and carrots, and rice. I made the pigs in a blankets, roasted potatoes and carrots, and gravy. Mike did a great job with the pork chops! :)
These moments, when we visit each other for extended periods and cooking together, gives me a glimpse of what life would be like when we live together. I love it and this guy.
Mike is a sweetie! He thought it was weird that we have to go back to our usual routine - 3 days 2 nights every other week - after seeing each other every. day. for two weeks straight during the holidays. For me, leaving this time wasn't too bad, and I also know that the next few weeks is going to be super busy for me. Sigh.
