'Dove Tail' is the name of this pattern. I bought it when I went to Argyle Yarn Studio for help on a hat (which failed by the way) and saw boxes of patterns just sitting there. They're not selling, the owner says. Most of them are really cute and I couldn't decide which scarf pattern to buy. I decided on this one because the design is subtle.
It's a pretty easy pattern, your basic knit and purl stitches. What gets you is you have to follow the instructions. Each row is different, that's how the rippling diamond pattern is created.
