Harassment

If you say something, you're often called uptight. You're overreacting. You have no sense of humor. You're hard to work with.
Thankfully, I have never been sexually harassed (at least not in my consciousness...).

Yet, that sentence from Cup of Jo's post on sexual harassment resonates with me. The feeling of being damned if you do and damned if you don't. Like needing to be assertive, but not "too assertive"; be nice, but you are a doormat if "too nice." Frankly, being nice is a good thing, it means you are pleasant to be around. For me, the above made me think of my hesitation to confront people about things that hurt me / I simply find inappropriate, precisely because I am afraid of appearing uptight and, god forbid, "too sensitive" *rolls eyes super hard* Also, if I confront them, it is the talk and gossip that ensues *rolls eyes again*
